Most language programs push you to start speaking from day one. That can sound exciting… until you realize you don’t know how to say what you want, and the pressure builds.
ICE (our Immersive, Customized, Experiential method) flips that around. Instead of rushing into speech, we begin with listening. Lots of it.
Think about how children learn their first language: they listen for months before they ever speak. In that time, their brains are silently absorbing sounds, rhythms, and patterns. Adults can learn in the same way. When you give your brain enough listening input, speaking comes out naturally later.
This “silent period” isn’t wasted time — it’s the foundation for real communication. Without it, speaking feels forced. With it, your words flow much more naturally. So if you’re not talking much at first, don’t worry. You’re not behind. You’re doing exactly what your brain needs to succeed.
So when you try to learn Arabic with Arabius, we ask you to listen intensely at the beginning so that your ear gets attuned to the unique and interesting sounds of Saudi Arabic.
